Harbinger of springtime
in the Central Texas hills.
For a few weeks each year
they turn the green fields blue.
Buffalo clover
Wolf flower
Conejo
Forecast like the weather,
they inspire photo-ops,
picnics,
and long weekend drives.
Loved by Indians and padres alike,
and now a tourist favorite,
it wouldn't be Texas
without

April 5, 2013 at 6:41 AMBeautiful! It's like the way the flowers turn the desert into a postcard for a mere two weeks each spring. Spring is a joyous time. I have my first robin outside my window!!

I also love the word Harbinger.
Loved your Springtime 55
Thanks for playing, you are always so creative, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
In all my years in Texas, I only got to see them once. Apparently El Paso is too dry for them.
