Sworn to Silence

I dare not share your secrets.
Though you take from what we had
and try to break me
(whispering little lies)
I will keep silent,
and hope they understand
why I must now lie, too.

This is a Sunday Scribblings post.

Eerie and intriguing. Others relationships are intriguing (mine no less so).

This is a weighty silence..i like the use of brackets..like a split in the voice...sometimes collusion can make you feel belonging..other times perhaps it sets you (uncomfortably) apart..

Yep, you've done it again, woman. This is my struggle, too -- only, I'm tired of protecting someone who relies on that protection to continue to be reprehensible.

There is a conspiracy of silence which can break one's resolve if it's for the wrong reasons. Your poem has a hint of "omission" in it, and it was very intriguing. Thanks, Ann. Peace, Amy
