3WW - Secrets

One razor-flick of carelessness
    would topple your secret empire

        of fevered dreams,

          murky nights,

            and the smell of flesh

              and jasmine.

[And so you lie.]

Destroy your most treasured illusions.

(Let go so you can hold on.)

Control is just a whispered wish
    in an empty room.

This is a Three Word Wednesday post.

The smell of flesh and jasmine almost brings alive the sense of battle..to keep the secret safe..or risk losing it..(perhaps)..I shall return to this piece..like a secret treasure..Jae

Ooh. A razor-flick of carelessness... man, Ann. What an image. I love it.

Will pay you royalties when I use it. Have no fear.

What a stunning poem with a host of double meanings to titillate the senses. The phrase "And so you lie" was the best with both the deceit and demise revealed in one sentence. Wonderful.

Edgy. I can see flesh smelling different ways, depending on the condition.

Love the fresh way you look at the words. Very well written and I love "Control is just a whispered wish
in an empty room." :)

I'm intrigued by the spacing and varied treatments of the different lines.

I know a few people who are very uncomfortable when they're not in control. They frustrate me.
