Slow Dance

Calm, precise, stylized,
each step a minuet:
an exercise in control.

skin deep

Probe the surface
and you’ll find
all the deadly sins,
plus a few extra.

Following the prescribed pattern
conceals our lustful and malevolent thoughts,
gossip and jealousy,
and the great trespass of boredom.
So hide your repulsive desires
behind a mask
and execute each figure
with a smile.

We are beautiful.
We are perfect.
We are liars.
And we are legion.

This is a Three Word Wednesday post.

The great trespass of boredom certainly resonates..i had an image of ballet dancers..i saw a programme where they danced without music and the noise of their shoes was like gunfire..and their poor bloody toes and sweaty tutus..but still beautiful and mesmerising all at once

What perfect lines.

This is great work. We all have a legion of things we try to hide. This piece shows just how disgustingly alike we all are.

But we are all beautiful. OK not in our physical aspect perhaps but real beauty is within. It jostles with those deadly sins but that's OK they just spice life up a bit.

Sounds like high school. That or a Victorian ball. I've often thought the two remarkably similar.
