55 - Gallery Cat

She watches all the people
on the streets of New Orleans.
She knows the things she witnesses
are never what they seem.

Her window is a front-row seat
to many hopes and schemes,
like when the tourists come inside,
pricing art beyond their means.

Wisely, she just watches.
New Orleans is a place to dream.

Got a story you can tell in 55 words? The G-Man wants to know!

Ann....
I've bought street art in Jackson Square, and I had to chuckle at your story.
The Big Easy is one of my favorite places

There's so much you can really see and hear if you sit quietly and listen and watch. Loved this 55, Ann.

Y'know, that's not a bad life. Especially if she gets some of the city's famed beignets!

@Susan: Beignets, nothing. A CDM cafe au lait every morning would rock my world! I used to buy the coffee at the store, but my efforts never result in something that tastes quite the same.

If you ask me, some of those highfalutin' art shops are a cover for starving artists. And some are ego massaging one-man-shows. And some are actually worth the price. But the cats always run me off before I can decide which is which.
