Magician

Clever magician with your tricks,
creating illusions with candle flame
and silver.

Monsters and madmen
populate your show.
Everything's deception;
a fun-house full of lies.
And where am I?

You want answers?
You need truth?
There is none here.
We are all sick with expectations,
waiting to be healed.

I can lay my hands upon you,
but only you can save your soul.

So turn away,
don't ask me.

Conjurers must work their own magic.

This is a Sunday Scribblings post.

Only we can pull the rabbit out of our own hat..that's true..although magic may seem easier..it is probably only a facade..Jae

Look not to others for answers for they are there in our own hearts. The conjurer has his own problems which he doesn't tell you about.

Talking about needing to heal ourselves first... reminds me that the same goes with criticism of others. Is that a log I see in my own eye as I gaze in the mirror?

Great meditation, Ann. First time here, thanks to Scribs! Peace, Amy

I've heard it said that the kind of miracle workers who lay the hands on and heal people are actually just giving people an excuse to heal themselves.

I'm a fully paid up member of the self preservation society! Don't they say that God helps those who help themselves?
