L' inconnu

We wander into the unknown
where paths are fresh
with fanciful discoveries,
sparkling objects of desire,
and heavy,
worrisome
things.

Hurry past.

Hold your breath.
Don't look back.
Savor each moment
of possibility,
and danger.

Amazing things can happen here.
Are you paying attention?

There is no way back.
Don't bother looking.
Around each turn is a new trail,
another invitation
to explore new worlds
and find out
who we are.

This is a Sunday Scribblings post.

The unknown is the path of true adventure..when taken wisely perhaps..or with the good company of another..I love the light and optimism..the idea that taking risk need not always mean putting oneself at risk..Jae

Exploration made enticing, and indeed there is really now way back. I loved this poem!

Indeed- sometimes it's what we learn about ourselves in exploration that is most important! Loved this poem!

You have described the joy of exploration so well. Whether it is the view, the unexpected discoveries or just the plain joy of being somewhere completely different it is as you say discovering yourself as well.

You're in my head again... or maybe this seeped into mine, long-distance.

Either way, I like.

I'm a "road not taken" type of gal, so this completely captured me. Yours is not a warning off, but a nudging forward, and I like that. The safe life is boring anyway. Peace, Amy

I'm revved, even if there might be a drop off or two along the way.

BTW, what does "L' inconnu" mean?
