Unplugged

We moderns stride about,
smug in certainty
and gizmos,
muttering paeans to our gods
via Bluetooth.

We live indulgent lives:
instant answers
instant love
beamed by satellites
and towers.

But still there remain
pockets of wildness.
Devoutly tapping
yields no magic here.
Only rocks will answer.

I agree with this in theory, but here I am using technology. Go figure. I think we're caught in a trap.

Maybe we spend too much time plugged into the wrong things. Which leaves us unplugged from the world around us..hard to think the www is only 25 years old but now so seemingly pivotal to our lives..a field and a thermos of tea..very good for the soul
