55 - Baby Squirrel

I think he fell
from the magnolia tree,
but when i looked up,
no nest did I see.
Too much danger
to leave him outside;
I put him in a box,
took him for a ride.
The vet treated him,
with fluids to make him better.
Now my squirrel resides
at the local wildlife center.

Your squirrel had a happier ending than our baby gosling. It was walking in circles due to a punctured eye. My daughter put it in a box with a towel and we took it to our vet. Infection had set in and it had to be put down. Better than letting it be at eaten, but we felt so sorry for the sweet baby.

Squirrels look so different before the fur comes in. I'll bet he would make quite the attraction at the wildlife center.
